for 3 to 4 students. Topics could be any domains on Linux or related

|There could be
interviews or tests given to students depending on preference of
guides. Once a guide and a group of students have an agreement on
skillset and domain, a topic is decided.
|September 15th 2013
|Students may not
have prior experience in the project domain. It's expected that they
learn required tools, base platform sourcce code and relevant

required to finish coding of planned functionality by this time. This is typically called an alpha stage
in software development terminology.
|March 15th 2014
|This is to finish
the project functionality to a presentable state and also prepare a
presentation. Students are expected to demonstrate their projects in
inter-college project competitions.
GEEP projects are
categorized into system software and application software. Following
areas are currently being considered for projects.
System Software: Virtualization, storage, network security, embedded systems, wireless, routers, smart phone customization
Application Software: Utility applications, GoogleTV, social
networking, cloud computing, uability, storage, language processing,

Shrenik Vikam - Shrenik has over 5 years experience
in android, linux and mobile platforms. He's a well-known Android application
and framework developer.
Yogesh Chavan - Yogesh has 5 years industrial experience in linux domain. Currently,
he works as external faculty in pune university. He explores Android
at system level in free time and is a well known Android hacker.
Swapnil Pimpale - Swapnil
is a FOSS enthusiast and possesses sound understanding
of Linux kernel internals, x86 architecture and system bring-up. He has
written a paper on Twin-Linux at the Ottawa Linux Symposium 2010. He
works at Clogeny Technologies.
Harish Pujari - Harish has over 10 years of
experience in Linux and Windows kernel drivers. He is known for his
thorough understanding of storage domain. Harish has worked at
Symantec India and currently works at sTec India.
Deepen Mehta - Deepen
has worked on multiple products in Linux and Windows software platforms
in his 5 years of industrial experience. Deepen works at sTec India.
Ashish Bijlani - Ashish has a masters from
Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelors from Pune university.
He is a well-known Linux kernel expert in his 6 years of industrial experience.
Sarita Bhat - Sarita has over 18 years experience in software development and QA. Sarita works at SAP Labs India.
Nachiket Ashtaputre - Nachiket works at Tibco. Application development is his area of expertise.
Nimesh Desai - Nimesh has over 8 years experience in application development and UI.
Amit Shirodkar - Amit has over 20 years experience in application development. He's an expert in web-apps.
Shekhar Manek - Shekhar works at Airtight networks. He is an expert in system software develpment.
Sandesh Sawant - Sandesh has over 10 years experience in networking and system software.
Kiran Pawar - Kiran works at NVIDIA. His area of expertise is system software development.
